Best NFL Mock Draft Simulators for the 2027 NFL Draft
Last checked: September 2026 | By StickToTheModel Full disclosure first: we build one of these, the StickToTheModel simulator. So we held every sim below to the same checklist and wrote down where the others beat us. If a rival does something better, it's on this page. The short version: the big simulators already have the 2027 class loaded, and most now do trades and grades. What separates them is how alive the rest of the league feels, what you can do with your mock when it's done, what's free, and how the page behaves on a phone.Quick Picks
- Best overall: StickToTheModel. CPU teams trade with each other, every pick gets graded, and your finished mock gets its own link you can post.
- Best for jumping straight in: Pro Football Network. Two clicks and about ten seconds to your first pick, free with no draft limit.
- Best if you already pay for PFF: PFF's simulator, built on PFF's player grades.
- Best for seeing what the crowd thinks: NFL Mock Draft Database, whose boards come from thousands of public mocks.
- Best for tuning the CPU: On The Clock by Fanspeak, with controls for CPU strategy, randomness and trade frequency.
How We Judged Them
We scored every simulator on six things:
- A living league. Do the other 31 teams draft for their own needs, and do they trade with each other, or only with you?
- Trades. Can you move up and down, trade future picks, and include players?
- Feedback. Do you get a grade on each pick, or just a letter at the end?
- After the draft. Can you share a link to your mock, or only a screenshot?
- Cost. What is free, and what sits behind a paywall or a daily limit?
- Phone experience. Most mocks happen on a phone. Ads that cover the board count against a sim.

Features and prices come from our own side-by-side reviews in August and September 2026. Simulators update all winter, and we re-check in January and again before the draft.
1. StickToTheModel: Best Overall
The sim where the rest of the league acts like a league. In most simulators you trade, but the other 31 teams sit still. On StickToTheModel, CPU teams trade with each other. A quarterback-needy team will jump ahead of you, just like on draft night, and each team's trade habits are modeled on how its real front office has dealt picks. That changes how you plan: you can't count on your guy lasting.
What you get:- Trades both ways. CPU teams offer you deals when you're on the clock, and you can counter. Trade up to two years of future picks, and add players from your NFL roster to sweeten a deal. Values follow the Rich Hill chart with a quarterback premium, so the CPU won't take a lopsided offer.
- A grade on every pick. Each pick is graded on value against the board, your team's needs and how much the position matters. Your class grade at the end also counts the trades you made.
- Your mock gets a link. Share a public page of your draft, or image cards for your picks, your steals and reaches, the full first round, or your new depth chart.
- Draft help when you want it. A lightbulb shows what fans most often take at your pick, and 2027 prospects show the odds they'll still be there at your next pick.
- Your rules. Pick Realistic, Balanced or Chaos. Run 1 to 7 rounds, control one team or all 32, edit team needs, reorder the draft order, and change sim speed mid-draft.
- No ads in the draft room. The board stays yours.
- More ways to play. Undo any of your picks, watch a full mock without drafting, re-run the 2023 to 2026 drafts, draft live with friends in a room with a code, or put the league's players back in the pool and redraft the NFL.
- Free drafts are capped: 1 a day without an account, 3 with a free one, and unlimited with Pro. PFN has no limit.
- Slower start on a phone: setup asks more before your first pick than PFN's two-click start.
- No proprietary grades: PFF has its own player grades, and we don't.
2. Pro Football Network: Best for Jumping Straight In
PFN is the biggest free simulator. It's fast: about two clicks and ten seconds to your first pick, and there's no daily limit. The 2027 board is updated through the fall, and it added a Redraft mode this year.
Strengths- Free and unlimited, 1 to 7 rounds
- CPU teams send trade offers you can accept, counter or reject, including next year's picks
- Multiplayer rooms with an ID and password
- Boards from past years back to 2020
- Heavy ads on mobile. In our September review the mock draft page loaded 36 ad frames, and an autoplay video covered the start button.
- Your finished mock is a screenshot, not a link
- Tracking your own picks mid-draft is clumsy
3. PFF: Best If You Already Subscribe
PFF's sim is built on its own player grades, which no one else has. It has custom big boards, private rooms you join with a code, leaderboards and a history of your mocks.
Strengths- PFF grades on every prospect
- Custom boards and private multiplayer rooms
- Full access needs PFF+ ($24.99/mo or $119.99/yr)
- Reviewers have said CPU teams don't trade with each other and all draft alike
4. NFL Mock Draft Database: Best Crowd Consensus
NMDD is best known for gathering public mock drafts into one consensus board, and people spend a long time on it: around 16 minutes a visit. The sim lets you draft against what the crowd expects.
Strengths- Unlimited free first-round sims
- Boards built from a huge pool of public mocks
- Mock+ ($6.99 to $19.99/mo) adds any expert's board, three trade value charts and undo
- Free mocks stop after Round 1
- Trade charts and undo are paid
- Heavy ad load around the draft room
5. On The Clock (Fanspeak): Best for Tuning the CPU
One of the longest-running sims, with the most knobs. Settings let you choose how CPU teams draft, how random they are and how often they trade. The draft room is clean, with a small header that leaves the board room to breathe.
Best for: people who want to control how chaotic the draft gets.6. A to Z Sports: Best for Beginners
A to Z is quick to start and hand-holds well. It suggests a pick when you're on the clock, shows the odds a player lasts to your next pick, and lets you set how often the CPU trades.
Best for: first-time mockers. Also Worth Knowing
- Imagine Mock Draft has five modes (Draft, Rewind, Big Board, Combine and Team Analysis), for fans who want more than a straight mock.
- ESPN, The Draft Network and RotoWire have run simulators before. We'll review their 2027 versions in the January update.
What Makes a Mock Draft Simulator Good
1. The CPU has to act like 31 different teams. If every team takes the best player left, your mock is just the big board with names shuffled. Good sims draft for need and let teams trade around you. 2. Trades need a real price. If the CPU accepts lopsided offers, you can fleece your way to four first-round picks and the mock stops meaning anything. 3. You should learn something from every pick. A letter grade at the end is fine. A grade on each pick, showing where the player was expected to go, is how you learn the board.Frequently Asked Questions
