Devon Marshall 2026 NFL Draft Profile | CB from NC State
Scouting Report
Devon Marshall emerged as one of the most improved players in college football during his 2025 campaign, transforming from a relative unknown into NC State's shutdown corner and one of the ACC's premier defensive backs. The West Roxbury, Massachusetts native finished the season with a Pro Football Focus defensive grade of 90.1 while leading the Wolfpack with 14 pass breakups and living up to his self-proclaimed nickname as NC State's "island corner." Marshall's signature performance came against Florida State and highly-touted receiver Duce Robinson-he intercepted quarterback Tommy Castellanos twice, broke up eight passes, and allowed just four catches on 14 targets, completely taking Robinson out of the game after the receiver had entered with multiple consecutive 100-plus yard performances. By season's end, opposing quarterbacks rarely targeted Marshall's side of the field, as demonstrated in the Gasparilla Bowl where Memphis quarterback Brendon Lewis avoided him entirely. What separates Marshall from the rest is his ball skills and commitment to the craft. His unbelievable confidence and self-belief-traits commonplace among the best NFL cornerbacks-make him a potential steal for teams at the next level. At 5'11", Marshall is on the shorter side for the position, as most NFL corners measure closer to 6'1". ESPN's Mel Kiper places him just outside the top-10 available cornerbacks in this loaded 2026 class. While he may lack ideal measurables, Marshall's production, ball skills, and fearless mentality suggest he can overcome physical limitations with technique and instincts at the professional level.
