Scouting Report
Teitum Tuioti is a high-motor edge prospect on Oregon's loaded defensive front who has steadily climbed 2027 boards after a productive third season. Listed at 6'3" and 263 pounds, he is primarily a stand-up outside linebacker but wears multiple hats along the Ducks' line, the kind of front-seven versatility NFL scouts covet. Sam Teets of Sports Talk graded him a top-100 prospect and wrote that if the draft were held today he could not imagine Tuioti getting out of the second round, while PFF ranked him 74th overall and noted his 47 defensive stops in 2024 were the most among Power Four edge defenders. His calling card is relentless effort: hustle plays litter his tape, including chasing down Drew Allar on a naked bootleg and blowing up a toss-option with quick reaction time and closing burst against Penn State. He is still building a pass-rush plan, currently cycling through club-swims, push-pull-swims, spins, two-handed swipes and frequent B-gap counters rather than a defined go-to move. His bend is average, so he often presses vertically before suddenly countering inside, and he lacks the play strength to consistently anchor at the point of attack. The traits, production and motor point to a Day 2 disruptor with first-round upside if his hand usage and counter package tighten up in 2026.
Strengths
- Relentless, elite motor that generates second-chance pressures late in plays
- Led all Power Four edge defenders with 47 defensive stops in 2024
- Production riser with 13.5 TFL and 7 sacks in 2025 plus 2 forced fumbles
- Builds impressive speed into contact and stresses tackles from wide alignments
- Quick reaction time and closing burst to threaten toss plays and run down scramblers
- Scheme-versatile, wears multiple hats across Oregon's front as a stand-up OLB
- Effective dip-and-rip move and fast eyes to locate the ball in coverage and run defense
- Backside pursuit pops with closing burst when chasing run plays from the back
Weaknesses
- No defined go-to pass-rush move
- still cycling through a broad but unrefined toolbox
- Average bend forces him to press vertical then counter inside rather than turn the corner
- Lacks the power profile to generate consistent push on bull rushes
- Cannot consistently anchor at the point of attack against down blocks
- Needs to improve breaking the lineman's grip to avoid being driven out of plays
- Pressure production lagged stops, finishing outside the top 50 in pressures in 2024
NFL Comparison
Boye Mafe (Oregon-area edge with motor and bend that needed a defined plan); Carl Granderson (long-strider speed-to-power rusher who wins on effort); Josh Uche (sub-package edge whose juice outran his anchor early)
