James Brockermeyer 2026 NFL Draft Profile | OC from Miami (FL)
Scouting Report
James Brockermeyer is a fundamentally sound center from Miami who transferred through Alabama and TCU before finding his opportunity with the Hurricanes. At 6-3 and 295 pounds Brockermeyer was a four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American who earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2024 and started 26 of his 31 career games. He gets off the snap quickly and consistently generates movement at the point of attack typically finishing blocks strong with good power and punch ability into defenders. Brockermeyer shows good awareness after the snap reacting and positioning himself against twists and stunts with above-average football intelligence. He is willing to attack punching multiple times to finish plays and is quick to pick up edge blitzes with no panic easily adjusting angles and resetting his feet. His pass blocking grade of 81.1 per PFF reflects his ability to handle pass rushers with solid base and leverage using body positioning to his advantage with disciplined awareness. He plays with a nasty streak and solid character that coaches value. However Brockermeyer is undersized at 295 pounds sitting at the 19th percentile for weight at the position meaning stronger pass rushers can get under his pads and steer him aside. He is a short-area blocker with limited range who does not consistently get to the second level and plays undisciplined at times especially in space. He can look hesitant when recognizing twists stunts and blitzes up front despite his overall intelligence and his run blocking grade of 67.7 lags behind his pass protection. NFL Draft Buzz graded him 73.0 overall ranking him around 400th with a UDFA projection but his Senior Bowl invitation gives him a chance to improve his stock.
