Scouting Report

Drew Azzopardi is one of the better developmental stories in the 2027 offensive tackle group, a former three-star recruit (Class of 2022) who reinvented himself at Washington after a rough first year in the Big Ten. As a 2024 starter he allowed 31 pressures and 7 sacks with only 9.1 percent of his run-blocking reps graded positively by PFF against 17.9 percent negative, but Jedd Fisch's staff stuck with him at right tackle and the bet paid off. Through the first four games of 2025 he surrendered just one pressure, including a shutout effort against a loaded Ohio State defensive line, and climbed to the No. 4 highest-graded offensive tackle in the country per PFF (PFSN had him sixth through three weeks). At 6'7" and 315 pounds he moves exceptionally well for his size, showing the lateral quickness and range to wall off stunts and play square in one-on-one sets. Sam Teets charted him allowing one pressure on 30-plus pass-pro reps against Rutgers and praised his improved hand violence, noting he now shoots his hands and clamps with arresting grip strength to re-route edge rushers. Evaluators highlight some of the best pulling and second-level mobility in the class, projecting him as a long-term right-tackle investment. NFL Mock Draft Database lists him as a consensus No. 113 prospect with a fourth-round projection and Cleveland as his most-mocked landing spot.

Strengths

  • Light-footed 6'7"/315 frame that moves like a much smaller blocker
  • Climbed to PFF's No. 4 highest-graded OT in the country in 2025
  • Allowed just one pressure across the first four games of 2025, including a shutout vs Ohio State's front
  • Range to drive rushers up and around the pocket and recovery burst to counter B-gap attacks
  • Improved hand violence, shoots and clamps with strong grip to re-route edge rushers per Sam Teets
  • Some of the best pulling and second-level mobility in the class per ESPN-cited evaluators
  • Lateral quickness to wall off stunts and play square in one-on-one pass sets
  • Year-two leap under Jedd Fisch's staff after benchmark struggles, showing real developmental arc

Weaknesses

  • Pad level rises quickly out of his stance, raising leverage concerns
  • Strike placement drifts wide at times and exposes his chest to tight-handed linemen
  • Run blocking outside of wide-zone reps still leaves a lot to be desired
  • Allowed 31 pressures and 7 sacks as a 2024 pass protector before the turnaround
  • Just 9.1 percent of his 2024 run reps graded positive against 17.9 percent negative per PFF
  • Still green and reliant on a thin sample of high-end tape
  • Profiles as a project whose draft value hinges on sustaining the 2025 form
