Scouting Report

Jacarrius Peak is a rare experienced offensive tackle prospect for the 2027 class who transferred from NC State to South Carolina to anchor an offensive line that has struggled to protect quarterback LaNorris Sellers. A former four-star recruit from Valdosta, Georgia, Peak developed into a 33-plus game starter for the Wolfpack and earned 2025 Honorable Mention All-ACC recognition after moving from right tackle to left tackle. ESPN Research credits him with allowing only seven sacks across more than 1,200 career pass-blocking snaps, and PFF gives him a 78.1 career pass-blocking grade with a strong 3.3 percent pressure rate. A former high school basketball and track athlete who finished runner-up in the shot put and even played some tight end as a freshman, Peak moves extremely well for his 6'4", 308-pound frame and uses length, balance and explosive uncoiling power to win reps. ESPN's Steve Muench praises his ability to seal the edge, reach backside tackles and climb to the second level in zone schemes, but flags inconsistent footwork that gives ground at the point of attack, though he recovers well. He drew a No. 44 ranking on one early 2027 board. A strong 2026 season in the SEC could push him into early-round consideration, with the developmental upside of an elite pass blocker.

Strengths

  • Allowed only seven sacks across more than 1,200 career pass-blocking snaps per ESPN Research
  • 78.1 PFF career pass-blocking grade with a 3.3 percent pressure rate
  • Massively experienced with 38 career games and 33-plus starts at multiple tackle spots
  • Rare athleticism for the position, a former HS shot put runner-up and basketball player
  • Explosive lower-body power that lets him uncoil and generate movement
  • Length and balance to seal the edge and reach backside defensive tackles
  • Smooth getting set with the ability to shoot his hands as a pass blocker
  • Versatile zone blocker who climbs and engages second-level defenders

Weaknesses

  • Inconsistent footwork that can give ground against pass rushers
  • 67.6 career PFF run-blocking grade lags well behind his pass protection
  • Called for 18 penalties across 2,196 career snaps, a discipline concern
  • Relies on recovery athleticism to bail out technique lapses at the point of attack
  • Still proving himself against SEC competition after ACC-level tape
  • Pad level and hand placement need refinement to reach his elite ceiling
  • New scheme and program in 2026 adds projection uncertainty

NFL Comparison

Tyrese Robinson (athletic mover with multi-position trench experience); Cameron Robinson (long left tackle who wins with length and recovery over pure technique); Jaylon Moore (developmental swing tackle with athletic tools and pass-set fluidity)
