The pass protection held while everything else strained. Earnest Greene III was a four-year starter at St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California, a four-star ranked as high as the No. 2 interior offensive line prospect nationally, a 2022 All-American Bowl participant who led his school to the CIF Southern Section Division I semifinals. After redshirting in 2022, he seized Georgia's starting left tackle role in 2023 and started all 14 games, earning First Team Freshman All-American honors from The Athletic and a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team while anchoring a line that led the SEC and ranked seventh nationally in sacks allowed at 0.93 per game. He moved to right tackle for 2025, started the nine games his back allowed, and gave up six pressures with no sacks. The Ole Miss tape showed the whole player, protection and push together, the version Georgia expected for a full season. The rest of the year told a harder story. The back injury cost him games and visibly drained his drive blocking, which collapsed to the bottom of his career range, and the program moving a younger teammate onto the blindside reads as its own quiet evaluation. With below-average timed athleticism and shorter arms, his margins were always technical, and a compromised core ate directly into them. He returns to Athens for a fifth year at left tackle with a medical file to clean and the run-game power to restore.
