Ted Hurst 2026 NFL Draft Profile | WR from Georgia State

Scouting Report

Ted Hurst will be one of the first Group of Five prospects selected in the 2026 NFL Draft after establishing himself as one of the most productive receivers in Georgia State history. The 6'3", 195-pound receiver became the first Georgia State player ever named to Bruce Feldman's College Freaks List and landed on the Biletnikoff Award watchlist-recognition typically reserved for Power Five standouts. By season's end, Hurst had etched his name throughout Georgia State's career records: fourth in receiving yards (1,965), fifth in receptions (127), fourth in yards per catch (15.5), fourth in touchdowns (15), and fourth in 100-yard games (8). His athletic testing numbers pop: a laser-timed 4.51 40-yard dash, 10-8 broad jump, and 6.93 three-cone drill. Hurst wins with a combination of explosive acceleration, precise route running, and high-level ball skills. Despite being a taller receiver, he sinks his hips well at the top of route stems and executes effective cuts and route fakes, generating natural separation on curls and comebacks. His contested catch ability is elite-he caught 61.1% of contested targets over the past two years, using his size, ball tracking, and strong hands to swing 50-50 opportunities in the offense's favor roughly 60% of the time. The All-Sun Belt selection showed positional versatility as an X, Y, and Z receiver in college. However, Hurst needs to improve his play strength to survive NFL jams and execute blocking assignments. His lean frame makes it easier for cornerbacks to reroute him, and he suffers from concentration drops. Bleacher Report ranks him 17th among receivers with a 7.0 grade-a Day 3 selection who could develop into a full-time starter.
