Romello Brinson 2026 NFL Draft Profile | WR from SMU
Scouting Report
Romello Brinson is a traits-based wide receiver prospect from SMU whose evaluation leans more on physical upside than sustained production. At 6-2, the Florida native began his career at Miami before transferring to SMU where he served primarily as a vertical and perimeter option in the Mustangs offense. In his final collegiate season, Brinson recorded 43 receptions for 638 yards, flashing the downfield ability that kept him on NFL radars throughout his career. He notched two games exceeding 100 yards receiving and started the season strong with 11 receptions for 247 yards and three touchdowns in SMU first two games. Brinson was ranked No. 167 overall on Bleacher Report big board with a 6.5 grade, placing him as the 23rd-ranked wide receiver in the class. He accepted an invitation to play in the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl. His speed allows him to threaten defenses vertically and his body control helps him finish plays downfield. However, Brinson has never posted a true breakout season and his production profile remains modest. His route running needs further development. He was highlighted as a potential fit for the San Francisco 49ers.
