The 2025 #74 (tier 8) finish with a game log that stops at Wk 7 confirms the season ended on injury, almost certainly the torn ACL widely reported. Wk 7's 24.1 PPR explosion before the injury showed the alpha-target ceiling was real. The 2026 question is purely physical recovery, not whether he is a top-15 WR when on the field, but the two-way usage compounds the recovery complexity.

Hunter came out of Colorado as Jacksonville's #2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the highest-drafted true two-way college player (WR and CB) in modern NFL history. He won the 2024 Heisman Trophy plus the Chuck Bednarik Award (best defensive player) and Fred Biletnikoff Award (best receiver) in the same season, the only player ever to win all three awards. He posted 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a 2024 senior while also playing 86% of defensive snaps. Jacksonville designed a hybrid role for him that emphasized WR usage with situational CB packages.

Strengths

Concerns

Season-ending injury at Wk 7 (widely reported as torn ACL) is the immediate 2026 variable. ACL recovery for a player who also plays defensive snaps adds physical complexity.
The two-way usage that defined his college brand may not translate to NFL workload. The Jaguars have to choose between maximizing his offensive ceiling and exposing him to the snap volume his frame may not sustain.

What to watch: Whether the 2026 role commits to him as a pure WR1 or whether Jacksonville continues the two-way experiment, because the recovery and the snap distribution decision are now linked.
