STM Take

The #35 (tier 8) rookie finish is the gap between draft capital and production, and it is real. The Wk 16 31.8 PPR spike and Wk 12 24.8 PPR game show the prospect grade was not wrong, but the Raiders' offensive line and overall offensive talent capped his fantasy ceiling. 2026 is the year the volume and the talent should converge into a tier-3-or-better finish if the offense supports it.

Jeanty came out of Boise State as Las Vegas's #6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the highest running back drafted since Saquon Barkley went 2nd overall in 2018. He posted 2,601 rushing yards as a senior, the 2nd-most in a single FBS season behind only Barry Sanders's 1988 Heisman year. He finished 2nd in the 2024 Heisman voting behind Travis Hunter. At 5'9" and 211 pounds with elite contact balance, he was widely viewed as the most complete RB prospect since Bijan Robinson.

Strengths

  • 2,601 rushing yards as a Boise State senior plus a Heisman runner-up finish is generational college production. Wk 16's 31.8 PPR explosion is the kind of single-game ceiling only top-tier NFL backs deliver.
  • Drafted #6 overall, the highest RB pick since Barkley in 2018, which guarantees workhorse usage at age 22 for the foreseeable future. The contact-balance trait that defined his college tape translates.

Concerns

  • Five 2025 weeks under 10 PPR (12.4, 9.3, 8.2, 5.8, 9.4) show that the Raiders offense and offensive line drag down his weekly floor regardless of his individual talent.
  • Tier 8 rookie season is well below where the draft slot and college production projected him. The gap between his usage and his production suggests scheme and supporting cast are bigger drags than expected.

What to watch: Whether Las Vegas's 2026 offensive line upgrades push him over 4.5 yards per carry, the threshold he never sustained as a rookie behind the existing front five.
