Taurean York 2026 NFL Draft Profile | ILB from Texas A&M
Scouting Report
Taurean York is one of PFF's early favorite prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft and profiles as an elite processing linebacker who can command his unit pre-snap. The 5'10", 227-pound Texas A&M MIKE linebacker may not fit every defensive coordinator's preferred mold at his size, but look past the dimensions and you'll see one of the best inside linebackers in the class. York went to Texas A&M as a 3-star recruit and became an immediate starter as a true freshman, earning SEC All-Freshman and Freshman All-American honors (ESPN) by racking up 74 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, and 3 sacks. In his second season, he was even more productive with 82 tackles, 9.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. A two-time captain, York's football IQ, anticipation for where the ball is going, and communication are very impressive for an underclassman-you can tell he spends extensive time in the film room. He's light on his feet, always on his toes, and can play with offensive protection looks. He's a fast-flowing support presence post-snap who can erase running space with lightning-quick burst and closing speed. As a blitzer, York shows legitimate juice with timing and burst that creates backfield havoc. His processing speed often beats blockers to the spot, though when directly engaged he can get swallowed up.
