McWilliams is a developing cornerback with good athleticism and competitive toughness. He displays fluid hips in coverage, transitioning smoothly from backpedal to forward movement. In man coverage, McWilliams demonstrates improving technique, staying in phase with receivers and contesting at the catch point. He shows developing ball skills, tracking passes in the air and disrupting throws with proper timing. McWilliams demonstrates good awareness in zone coverage, understanding route combinations and reading quarterback eyes. Against the run, he is a willing tackler who brings proper form to the point of contact.
