Ransaw is an athletic defensive back with excellent speed and developing coverage skills. He displays fluid movements in his backpedal and transitions, showing the ability to change direction quickly. In man coverage, Ransaw demonstrates the speed to carry receivers vertically and recover when beaten initially. He shows developing ball skills, tracking passes in the air and timing his jumps to contest at the catch point. Ransaw demonstrates good competitive toughness, challenging receivers and disrupting passes. Against the run, he is a willing tackler who brings proper effort to the point of contact.
