Chandler Rivers capped off his Duke career as one of the ACC's most productive and physical cornerbacks, earning First Team All-ACC honors in 2024 after recording 52 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and nine pass breakups. The 5-10, 185-pound cornerback from Beaumont, Texas established himself as a defensive mainstay over four seasons in Durham, accumulating six interceptions over his career including back-to-back pick-sixes against Florida State in consecutive seasons. His junior season featured crucial interceptions against ranked opponents SMU and Miami, showcasing his ball skills and clutch playmaking ability. Despite his undersized frame, Rivers plays with exceptional physicality and toughness, displaying a real willingness to throw his body around and make tackles against the run. His outstanding route recognition skills allow him to locate the ball well, plant and drive on throws with impressive closing speed. Prior to Duke, Rivers was a three-star prospect and multi-sport star at Beaumont United who racked up over 307 tackles, 25 interceptions, and 40 pass breakups in high school while also excelling in basketball (2021 5A state champion) and track & field (second in state in long jump).
