Scouting Report
Princewill Umanmielen is an ascending edge rusher coming off a breakout 2025 at Ole Miss after two developmental seasons at Nebraska, and the younger brother of Carolina Panthers edge Princely Umanmielen. ESPN ranked him the No. 6 player in the 2026 transfer portal after he produced 40 pressures (third-most in the SEC) on just 465 snaps, with a team-high 13 tackles for loss and 9 sacks, earning third-team All-SEC. He re-signed with the Rebels before entering the portal at the deadline and following Lane Kiffin to LSU. CBS Sports ranks him No. 44 overall and NFLDraftBuzz lists him at 6'5" and 245 pounds, LB13 with an 84.9 rating. ESPN's Tom Muench describes a long, explosive rusher with strong, active hands, real bend and burst, who closes well and chases plays from the backside while holding the point of attack with a powerful shock and shed. The knock is a lean, not-yet-filled-out frame that PFF says still lacks power, and a pass-rush plan that needs more refined counters to match his brother's draft range. He can over-pursue downhill and get caught on counters and cutbacks, and some evaluators question his edge twitch and bend at the very top of the rush. The tools, length, and rising production point to a Day 2 trajectory if the strength and technique keep developing in 2026.
