Thaddeus Dixon 2026 NFL Draft Profile | CB from North Carolina
Scouting Report
Thaddeus Dixon is a versatile experienced cornerback who played in Bill Belichick's defense at both Washington and North Carolina bringing scheme-diverse experience across boundary nickel and safety alignments. At 6-1 and 195 pounds Dixon has good size for the position and accumulated 88 tackles 22 passes defensed and 2 interceptions across his collegiate career showing consistent production near the ball. He has strong eye discipline and instincts consistently recognizing route concepts and anticipating throws. Dixon shows excellent downhill burst to close on throws and disrupt the catch point and he anticipates well at the top of routes with good hip sink to stay in phase with receivers. He consistently hand-fights in man coverage to disrupt timing and always gets his head around to locate the ball. His length helps him track and contest downfield throws and he excels in Cover 3 schemes. However Dixon's footwork in man coverage gets outside his frame making it easier for receivers to stack him vertically. He lacks recovery speed and cannot make up for footwork inconsistencies against faster receivers. His ball skills are hit-or-miss as he should convert more of his 22 passes defensed into interceptions given how often he is in position to make plays. He is a poor run defender who takes aggressive angles and misses tackles needing to improve his wrap-up technique. Bleacher Report graded him 6.8 ranking him 133rd overall and CB21 comparing him to Tyrique Stevenson. At the Senior Bowl Dixon showed splash plays including an interception on a Cole Payton throw.
