DeShon Singleton 2026 NFL Draft Profile | S from Nebraska
Scouting Report
DeShon Singleton emerged as one of the more intriguing safety prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft class after a breakout 2025 campaign with Nebraska. The junior college transfer had played just 70 snaps as a rotational safety during his first year with the Cornhuskers, and a season-ending injury in 2023 prevented him from building NFL Draft momentum. However, a unique ruling granted him an additional year of eligibility, and Singleton capitalized fully. The 6'3", 210-pound safety started all 12 games in 2025 and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors. He led Nebraska with two interceptions and ranked second on the team with 70 tackles while adding 4.0 TFLs, 1.0 sack, four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. His size stands out immediately-at 6'3", Singleton is one of the taller safety prospects in this class, giving him excellent range in coverage and the ability to match up against bigger tight ends. Nebraska's 3-3-5 scheme utilized his physical attributes effectively, allowing him to showcase versatile skills in both deep coverage and run support. ESPN's Mel Kiper ranks him 10th among safeties in the 2026 class, and his Senior Bowl invitation will be crucial-competing against elite receivers and tight ends in Mobile will allow him to display man-coverage fluidity and deep zone awareness directly in front of all 32 NFL scouting departments. For a player previously seen as a late-round or priority free agent type, a strong Senior Bowl performance could elevate him to Day 2 or early Day 3 selection status.
