Kaleb Proctor 2026 NFL Draft Profile | DL5T from SE Louisiana
Scouting Report
Kaleb Proctor is a dominant interior defensive lineman from Southeastern Louisiana who earned Consensus All-American honors and Southland Conference Player of the Year in 2025 after leading the conference with 9 sacks as a defensive tackle. He is only the second Consensus All-American in SLU program history earning first-team recognition from Stats Perform AFCA and FCS Football Central along with second-team honors from the Associated Press. Proctor was the centerpiece of an elite SLU defense that ranked in the top 10 nationally in multiple categories including third-down conversion rate allowed at 31.8 percent (9th in FCS) scoring defense at 18.0 points per game (8th) total defense at 295.2 yards per game (8th) and sacks per game at 3.08 (9th). His ability to generate 9 sacks from the interior is rare and suggests legitimate pass-rush ability from the defensive tackle position. All 32 NFL franchises visited the SLU campus during the 2025 season to scout him demonstrating the level of NFL interest in his talent. He earned an invitation to the 2026 NFL Combine becoming just the fifth Southeastern Lion to receive that honor and ESPN's Mel Kiper ranked him as the 10th-best defensive tackle in the class on his big board. Proctor would be just the third SLU player drafted since the program returned in 2003 joining Robert Alford (2nd round 2013) and Harlan Miller (6th round 2016). However as an FCS prospect the competition level raises questions about how his production translates against Power Four offensive lines. His physical measurements and athletic testing at the Combine will be critical in confirming whether his dominance at the FCS level can carry over to the NFL. Detailed scouting analysis of his technique and weaknesses from major outlets is limited.
