Hamilton is a disruptive interior defensive lineman with good quickness and developing power. He displays active hands at the point of attack, shedding blocks and maintaining gap integrity. As a pass rusher, Hamilton shows flashes of quickness and power, using swim and bull rush moves effectively. He demonstrates good awareness of screen plays and has the lateral quickness to make plays in pursuit. Hamilton plays with high motor and effort, rarely giving up on plays even when initially blocked.
