Scouting Report

Texas · 2026 draft class

Anthony Hill Jr. is widely considered the best off-ball linebacker in the 2026 NFL Draft class-a rare combination of downhill thumping and sideline-to-sideline range that will translate immediately at the next level. At 6'1", 230 pounds, the Texas junior was a consensus five-star recruit consistently ranked in the top 25 overall in his class out of Denton, Texas. Hill has been a monster since his arrival in 2023, leading the Longhorns with 113 total tackles in 2024 while adding 16.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and four forced fumbles. His career splash-play production is exceptional: 31.5 TFLs, 17 sacks, and 8 forced fumbles in just three seasons. Hill's speed and ability to quickly change directions are incredible-his burst after the snap allows him to be in position to make plays consistently. He is quick to key and diagnose running plays, constantly putting himself in position to take on blocks or shoot gaps. His teleportation-level explosiveness is lethal through interior gaps as a blitzer, demonstrated by his two-sack, nine-pressure performance against Mississippi State. Hill possesses the size, strength, and intelligence to take on and shed blocks while filling gaps properly. His combination of athleticism, instincts, and physicality makes him a potential early-round selection who can start from Day 1.
