Emmanuel Oyebadejo
Scouting Report
A raw, massive edge with inside flexibility.
The case for
- Rare 6-6, 299-pound frame gives him the size to play defensive end or move inside, which 247Sports says some pro teams may prefer
- His sack production has carried over to the SEC, with 3.5 sacks in his first four Florida games, 2.5 of them at Auburn in his first conference game
- A real strip-sack threat, with two forced fumbles in 2025 and another at Missouri in 2026
The worry
- Very little football experience: 2026 is only his second active college season after a basketball background and a lost 2024
- Missed all of 2024 with an injury in preseason camp, which NFL medical staffs will want to check
- His NFL position is unsettled, with 247Sports noting teams may see him as a defensive tackle rather than an end
Full report
Emmanuel Oyebadejo has one of the most unusual paths in the 2027 class. He grew up in Manchester, England, played basketball until he was 18 and only took up football at the University of Exeter. A preseason camp injury cost him the 2024 season at Jacksonville State. He came back in 2025 to start all 14 games at defensive end, tying for the team lead with 4.5 sacks to go with 6.5 tackles for loss, 41 tackles, two forced fumbles and five pass breakups, and earned First Team Conference USA honors. He moved to Florida for his final year of eligibility, which 247Sports points out is only his second season as an active college player. Florida lists him at 6-6 and 299 pounds (247Sports had him at 303). He lines up mainly at defensive end for the Gators, though 247Sports expects some pro teams to see him as a defensive tackle. The step up to the SEC has not slowed him. He had 2.5 sacks at Auburn in his first conference game, then added a sack, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble at Missouri. Across his first four Florida games he has 3.5 sacks, five hurries and two pass breakups on 123 defensive snaps. That run put him on Sam Teets' stock-up lists after Weeks 3 and 5, and Todd McShay and Steve Muench gave him a stock-check segment on The McShay Show. Fanspeak's community board still has him around the 30th edge rusher with a Day 3 ADP, so his stock with analysts is moving faster than the consensus.
Every strength
- Gets his hands into passing lanes, with five pass breakups in 2025 and two more already at Florida
- Proven durability as a starter, opening all 14 games at defensive end for Jacksonville State in 2025
- Makes a lot happen on few snaps, with 3.5 sacks and five hurries on 123 defensive snaps this season
- Former basketball player who only started football at Exeter, so this production has come with very little time in the sport
- Strong off the field, with CSC Second Team Academic All-American and CUSA All-Academic honors in 2025
Every weakness
- Still a part-time player at Florida, with 123 snaps over four games, and he appeared in only four of the team's first five games
- Low tackle volume, with nine tackles through four games, so his value leans heavily on sacks
- Only one season of starting tape before Florida, all of it against Conference USA offensive lines
