Mauigoa is a physical, downhill linebacker with excellent size and play strength. He displays good instincts against the run, quickly diagnosing plays and attacking the line of scrimmage. At the point of contact, Mauigoa delivers jarring hits and rarely misses tackles, bringing proper leverage and wrap-up technique. He demonstrates developing coverage skills, showing awareness in zone and the ability to carry tight ends in man coverage. Mauigoa plays with high motor and competitive toughness, consistently fighting through blocks to make plays.
