Scouting Report

Per-touch production was never the question with Isaac Brown. A Miami-area product out of Homestead and a three-star recruit, he rewrote the Louisville record book as a true freshman, becoming the first first-year player in program history to rush for over 1,000 yards and taking ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2024. A leg injury against Virginia Tech cut his 2025 in half, but he still ran 100 times for 878 yards and seven touchdowns across nine games at 8.8 a carry, forcing 39 missed tackles and gaining 533 yards after contact. His 201-yard, 14-carry afternoon against Boston College is the tape that makes scouts sit up regardless of where he sits on a board, and he closed the year healthy with 102 yards and two scores against Toledo in the bowl. When he gets a crease, the run usually ends in the secondary. The rest of the file is complicated. The leg injury is the first thing medical staffs will chase, he is among the smallest backs in the class at 5-9 and 190, which removes the inside-grinder role entirely, and keeping him in to pass protect is a losing bet at his size. His receiving impact has been all dump-offs, so third-down value is unproven, and two fumbles in nine games on a part-time touch count compounds the trust problem. He returned to Louisville for 2026 with everything to prove about durability and nothing to prove about juice.

Strengths

  • Averaged 8.8 yards a carry in 2025 with breakaway runs in half his games
  • 201 yards on 14 carries against Boston College
  • first true freshman in Louisville history to rush for 1,000 yards, and the 2024 ACC Rookie of the Year
  • forced 39 missed tackles on only 100 carries
  • 533 yards after contact despite a small frame
  • closed the season healthy with 102 yards and two scores against Toledo in the bowl
  • back-to-back seasons of elite per-touch production
  • home-run speed that turns any crease into a secondary-level run

Weaknesses

  • Leg injury against Virginia Tech wiped out half his 2025 season and clouds the medical file
  • smallest-frame profile in the room at 5-9, 190, so he is a space player not an inside grinder
  • pass protection is a losing bet at his size, which takes third downs off his plate
  • two fumbles in nine games is a bad rate on a part-time touch count
  • receiving impact has stayed shallow and dump-off based
  • only 100 carries in 2025, a thin sample
  • projects as a camp-battle roster spot rather than a handed role

De'Von Achane home-run speed on a small frame; Tyjae Spears explosive back with a medical file; Kenneth Gainwell space-and-screens third-down profile if the receiving grows
