Jaishawn Barham made an immediate impact at Michigan in 2024, earning Freshman All-American honors with his explosive playmaking ability. At 6-3, 243 pounds, he possesses exceptional size and frame for the linebacker position, with the build that resembles an edge rusher. Barham is an explosive athlete with vertical burst to shoot gaps and disrupt plays in the backfield, displaying impressive lateral quickness and range to patrol sideline-to-sideline effectively. He's a violent tackler who brings pop on contact and consistently wraps up ball carriers. Barham's versatility allows him to play multiple linebacker spots and rush the passer, showing good instincts and play recognition particularly against the run. He possesses the strength to take on and shed blocks from offensive linemen. However, Barham can be slow diagnosing plays at times, leading to delayed reactions. His coverage skills are still developing and he struggles to match up with quicker receivers. He occasionally plays with high pad level, affecting his leverage and ability to disengage from blocks, and can get caught peeking in the backfield, leaving him susceptible to play-action. Barham projects as a Day 2 linebacker with significan't upside as he refines his game.
