Jamal Roberts was the quiet half of Missouri's backfield last year, and quiet was still good: 753 yards and 6 scores on just 124 carries, 6.1 a pop, with nearly 500 of those yards coming after contact. The whole equation is Ahmad Hardy, who is rehabbing a gunshot wound from May with no timeline; Eli Drinkwitz has flat-out said he may or may not play in 2026. If Hardy misses time, Roberts inherits the lead job in an offense that just fed its top back 1,600-plus yards. This is a bet on a bigger role, plain and simple, and it's a good one at the price.
