Beau Stephens 2026 NFL Draft Profile | OG from Iowa

Scouting Report

Beau Stephens is a physical competitive guard from Iowa who earned First Team All-American honors in 2025 after returning from a missed 2023 season to earn Iowa's Comeback Player of the Year award. At 6-5 and 315 pounds he is a run-game mauler who surges off the ball with explosive power during his second and third steps to uproot defenders on combination and angle-drive blocks. His film is full of pancake blocks especially when climbing to the second level where he arrives with quality speed for his size. Stephens anchors well in pass protection matching power with power and re-anchoring effectively against bull rushes. In 2025 he posted a 98.7 percent pass block win rate allowing zero sacks and zero quarterback hits across 682 snaps with just one penalty. He plays with a nasty chippy demeanor finishing blocks through the whistle and delivering body blows every snap. His snatch-trap technique effectively combats bull rushes down the middle of his frame. However his arm length falls below desired measurements for an NFL guard making it harder to establish first contact and recover when beaten. He is stiffer than ideal lacking the agility and twitch to mirror explosive athletes. He bends at the waist in pass protection leaving him vulnerable to overextending against swims and gap exchanges. His injury history includes missing all of 2023 plus multiple in-season exits. Bleacher Report graded him at 6.9 ranking him 121st overall comparing him to Jon Runyan Jr as a scrappy zone-scheme starting guard.
