Carver Willis 2026 NFL Draft Profile | OT from Washington
Scouting Report
Carver Willis is a compact technically sound blocker who transferred from Kansas State to Washington for his final season starting 10 games at left tackle before projecting to move inside to guard at the NFL level. A former three-star recruit Willis made 28 total career starts across both schools including 18 at right tackle for Kansas State. His refined run-blocking technique is his calling card as he operates with quick snap-to-contact tempo excellent hand placement and sustained leverage to regularly hit his landmarks with proper fits. He plays with very good effort strain and physicality through the whistle earning Washington's John P. Angel Offensive Lineman of the Year Award in 2025. At the Senior Bowl Willis showed promise when moved to guard a position he never played in college with Dane Brugler of The Athletic noting he flashed when lined up on the interior. His run-blocking one-on-ones were solid with 3 positive grades across 8 reps per PFF. However his mediocre length and mass create soft edges that necessitate the move inside. He was exposed in pass protection at the Senior Bowl with only 2 positive grades against 5 negatives in pass-pro one-on-ones. Elite rushers overwhelmed him physically as Deven Eastern uprooted and discarded him with a club move for an instant sack. Bleacher Report's Brandon Thorn graded him at 7.0 ranking him 106th overall and IOL8 comparing him to Robert Hainsey as a high-level backup with starter upside in the late third to early fourth round.
