He displays good footwork in pass protection, maintaining proper depth in his kick slide and mirroring edge rushers effectively. In the run game, Nelson demonstrates improving power, creating movement at the point of attack and working well on combination blocks. He shows good awareness of stunts and blitzes, communicating with adjacent linemen and picking up late rushers. Nelson plays with competitive toughness, finishing blocks and looking for work when unoccupied.
