Keyshaun Elliott is a smart physical inside linebacker from Arizona State who projects as a starter at the next level despite lacking the flashiness of other linebacker prospects in this class. At 6-2 and 235 pounds Elliott plays with scheme versatility and a run-and-chase style that allows him to flow sideline to sideline and clean up in pursuit. Read Optional's Oliver Connolly identified Elliott as one of his favorite players in the class grading him 6.98 as a solid starter and high-end rotation player noting that he is a smart physical run-and-chase linebacker with versatility and blitzing upside who projects as a starter despite sitting around 300 on consensus boards. Elliott's intelligence shows up in his pre-snap reads and ability to diagnose run fits quickly getting downhill to fill gaps before blocks can develop. His blitzing upside adds a pass-rush dimension that many off-ball linebackers lack and he times his rushes well to generate pressure. He is a reliable tackler who wraps up consistently and does not miss many opportunities in the open field. His physicality at the point of attack allows him to take on blocks and disengage to make plays. However Elliott is not as flashy or explosive as other linebackers in this deep class which includes names like Josiah Trotter Jake Golday and Deontae Lawson. His athletic testing will be important in confirming his movement skills translate beyond college tape. He may lack the top-end speed to match up with NFL-caliber receiving backs and tight ends in space.
