Brenen Thompson 2026 NFL Draft Profile | WRS from Mississippi State
Scouting Report
Brenen Thompson is one of the fastest and most explosive receivers in college football, epitomizing the phrase 'field stretcher' reminiscent of 2023 Senior Bowl standout Tank Dell. The former Texas and Oklahoma transfer has enjoyed a breakout season at Mississippi State. Thompson was a former high school sprinter who won the Silver medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.4 and Gold in the 200-meter with 21.27 as a junior-elite speed that translates directly to the football field. As Mississippi State's leading receiver, he uses the fear of his speed wisely, selling vertical routes and pushing cornerbacks up the field to open pockets for hitches, curls, and comeback routes. Thompson easily takes the top of the defense with his deep speed. He's good about being hard to touch at the line of scrimmage. However, if bigger corners get their hands on him, route timing will be disrupted-winning early or being aligned off the ball will be critical for NFL success against man coverage.
