Dallen Bentley 2026 NFL Draft Profile | TE from Utah
Scouting Report
Dallen Bentley transformed from an afterthought on Utah's depth chart into an All-Big 12 tight end and NFL Combine invite, fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing for his favorite childhood team. The Ephraim, Utah native transferred to Utah from Snow College ahead of the 2023 season, but injuries and players ahead of him prevented significan't involvement early-he entered 2025 with just three catches for 20 yards through his first two Division I seasons. Everything changed in 2025 when Bentley finally got his opportunity. He saw action in all 12 games, starting 11 at tight end, and emerged as one of the Big 12's most productive tight ends. His performance earned All-Big 12 Third Team honors and a John Mackey Award semifinalist nod. At 6'5", 255 pounds, Bentley possesses the size and athleticism to be an effective receiving tight end at the next level. Scouts note his impressive explosiveness and ability to track the deep ball over his shoulder-rare traits for a tight end. He lays out well to make catches outside his frame and serves as a good receiver underneath. Perhaps most importantly for his NFL projection, Bentley is a strong run blocker with impressive strength, giving him three-down value. However, his consistency catching through contact needs improvement, and his limited production prior to 2025 raises development questions. His NFL Combine invite and East-West Shrine Bowl selection will be crucial opportunities to validate his breakout season. DraftTek ranks him as the 15th tight end with a late-round projection.
