STM Take

McBride at STTM #3 tier 1 in 2025 set the NFL single-season tight end receptions record (126) en route to first-team All-Pro honors and his second Pro Bowl. The career trajectory has climbed every year (tier 3 → tier 2 → tier 1). The Cardinals' QB ecosystem (Kyler Murray's tier-7 finish) capped the upside; the 126 catches happened anyway, which says everything about the talent.

McBride was born in Greeley, Colorado, played at Fort Morgan High, and was the 2021 John Mackey Award winner and unanimous All-American at Colorado State. Arizona took him 55th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was first-team All-Pro in 2025, has made two Pro Bowls (2024, 2025), and set the NFL single-season record for receptions by a tight end (126 in 2025).

Strengths

  • NFL single-season record for receptions by a TE (126 in 2025); the volume case has no parallel.
  • First-team All-Pro 2025 at age 26; back-to-back Pro Bowls and tier improvements every year.

Concerns

  • Career 6 TDs across the four-year tenure has not matched the volume; the TD rate is modest for a 1st-team All-Pro.
  • Kyler Murray's MIN move means McBride enters 2026 without his career-long QB; system change is real.

What to watch: Whether McBride's volume holds with a new QB room in 2026; the record-setting 126 was tied to Murray's late-career air-share.
