Skyler Bell 2026 NFL Draft Profile | WR from Connecticut
Scouting Report
Skyler Bell took the college football world by storm in 2025, transforming from a Wisconsin transfer into UConn's first-ever First Team AP All-American and a Biletnikoff Award finalist. The Bronx native's winding path-from The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, to Wisconsin, and finally to UConn-culminated in a record-shattering season that established him as one of the most productive receivers in the country. Bell's 2025 numbers were staggering: 101 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns, all UConn single-season records. His route-running is the foundation of his game, featuring snappy cuts and natural separation ability. Bell uses head and shoulder fakes, sluggo routes, and quick footwork to lose defenders in their breaks. His vision after the catch creates YAC opportunities, and his acceleration allows him to overtake defenders when building speed. At Wisconsin in 2022, Bell earned honorable mention Freshman All-American honors with 30 catches for 444 yards and five touchdowns. The transfer to UConn unlocked his full potential in a featured role. At 6'0", 185 pounds with 4.4 speed, Bell brings legitimate wheels that translate to taking the top off defenses. However, he's plagued by inconsistency-five or more drops in each of the past three seasons. He struggles against press coverage, lacks ideal play strength, and doesn't perform well through contact. His limited catch radius and inability to break tackles further constrain his ceiling. Bell projects as a slot or movement Z receiver with mismatch creation ability-a Day 3 selection with potential to contribute immediately in the right system.
