Head to head

The longer bar is the better unit, and it takes its team's colour. A long coloured bar against a short grey one is where a side has the edge.

The tale of the tape

This is a fight over the clock. The Rams are built to run: 5th in the league on the ground and 1st at lining up under center. They get a Bills run defense that ranks 25th, and 29th once you account for the run games it has faced. Since 2015, teams with a run-game edge this big won 60% of the time but covered only 47%, because the line already knows. Every carry that works keeps Josh Allen on the sideline. Buffalo's answer is its pass rush, 5th at hitting the quarterback, against a Rams line that ranks 23rd at keeping him clean. If Los Angeles falls behind and has to throw, that is where the game flips.

Buffalo has the best unit on the field: 3rd passing, 1st in big plays, 2nd on third down. But the Rams give up the 3rd-fewest big plays and played zone on three of every four snaps last year, and zone is where Dalton Kincaid lived: no receiver with 50 targets did more against it in 2025. Expect the Bills to win with long drives, not home runs. For the bet, the history and the angles disagree on the total. Both teams have gone under in spots like this (Rams 10 of 13, Bills 7 of 9), while past games that looked like this one lean slightly over 54.5, by a margin luck could explain.
