Three straight seasons of improvement (#91 to #26 to #20) for a 2nd-round TE is a clean development arc, and the 2025 second-half production confirms the role is locked. Wks 12-13 produced 14.3 and 13.5 PPR, Wks 16-18 added 14.9, 8.4, 17.2. Five games above 13 PPR across his last eight is meaningful TE2 baseline, with room to grow once Evan Engram fully departs.

Strange came out of Penn State as Jacksonville's 2nd-round pick (61st overall) in 2023 after a senior season that produced 32 catches for 362 yards. The Jaguars drafted him as the long-term replacement for Evan Engram, who was on the back half of his contract. His rookie 2023 was buried (tier 8 #91), 2024 produced an incremental jump (tier 7 #26), and 2025 brought the breakout: tier 5 (#20) with multiple meaningful spike weeks once Engram missed time.

Strengths

Three straight seasons of STTM improvement (#91, #26, #20) is the textbook 2nd-round TE development arc. Five games above 13 PPR in his last eight 2025 weeks confirms real role expansion.
Penn State football-IQ pedigree plus the 2nd-round draft slot establishes a structural floor. Jacksonville's offensive investment in Trevor Lawrence guarantees a TE-friendly target distribution.

Concerns

Even the breakout 2025 finish is only tier 5; the absolute ceiling has not yet reached TE1 territory. Wks 14-15 (5.7, 3.6 PPR) show the floor when defenses prepare.
Trevor Lawrence's career arc remains uncertain; Strange's ceiling depends on Lawrence reaching a top-12 QB sample, which he has not yet sustained.

What to watch: Whether his 2026 target share clears 5 per game with Evan Engram out of the picture, the threshold that separates tier 5 from tier 3 TE territory.
