John Michael Gyllenborg 2026 NFL Draft Profile | TE from Wyoming
Scouting Report
John Michael Gyllenborg is a redshirt senior tight end from Wyoming who is one of the most explosive athletes in the entire 2026 draft class. At 6-5 and 250 pounds, the Kansas City native only began playing football as a high school senior and has just three seasons of significant game experience. Gyllenborg is primarily a pass-catching threat who excels when split out in the slot or at H-back rather than in-line. His burst off the line, acceleration, and top-end speed allow him to quickly overtake linebackers on seam routes and create mismatches against safeties. He is an over-route monster whose speed pops when running across the formation. Gyllenborg is a natural hands catcher who finishes through contact, though he needs to be more assertive at the catch point and improve his ball tracking. His route tree remains underdeveloped with a tendency to round breaks on in and out routes. As a blocker, his impact fell significantly from 2023 to 2024, and he was frequently substituted out on run downs due to poor technique. ESPN ranked him as the sixth-best fullback/H-back prospect. The Senior Bowl invitation validated his talent despite coming from a non-Power-4 program.
