Scouting Report

Ole Miss · 2026 draft class

De'Zhaun Stribling is a developmental X-receiver prospect from Ole Miss who checks the physical boxes at 6-2 and 210 pounds with the play strength ball skills and contested-catch ability NFL teams covet on the outside. Originally from Hawaii Stribling transferred from Washington State to Ole Miss where he posted back-to-back 800-plus yard receiving seasons and emerged as the Rebels' most complete receiver during the second half of 2025. He is a long-striding vertical threat who eats up cushion quickly versus off-man coverage selling vertical routes convincingly through stride length rather than pure burst. His contested-catch ability is a calling card as he uses his size strength and hand-eye coordination to high-point the ball and secure catches through contact. Stribling is an effective three-level route runner with disciplined pacing to reach designed spots and find soft spots against both man and zone coverage. He defeats press coverage using his feet to freeze defensive backs before delivering well-timed punches to clear hands. His big-game production is notable with 199 combined receiving yards across two College Football Playoff appearances against Georgia and Miami. However he lacks first-step explosiveness and his speed develops gradually rather than explosively off the line. His release package needs significant expansion to handle the variety of press techniques he will face from NFL corners. He was Ole Miss's second-leading receiver not the primary target raising questions about handling WR1 defensive attention. Bleacher Report graded him at 7.4 ranking him 71st overall and WR13 comparing him to Romeo Doubs.

Strengths

  • Long-striding vertical threat eating up cushion quickly versus off-man coverage
  • Strong contested-catch ability using size strength and coordination to high-point the ball
  • Effective three-level route runner with disciplined pacing to reach designed spots
  • Press-man defeat skills using feet and well-timed hand punches
  • Strong ball tracking and field awareness for explosive downfield plays
  • Good spatial awareness and YAC ability spinning away from contact
  • CFP big-game production with 199 combined yards against Georgia and Miami
  • Size-athleticism profile fitting the NFL outside X-receiver template

Concerns

  • Short-area quickness limited as patient corners can mirror his releases
  • Lacks first-step explosiveness to force corners off the ball at the snap
  • Build-up speed profile rather than instantaneous acceleration
  • Limited release package needing significant expansion for NFL press techniques
  • Secondary production role as Ole Miss second-leading receiver not primary target
  • Wide evaluator consensus gap ranging from 71st to 267th across boards
