STM Take

First STTM ranking at age 30 in his seventh NFL season is a meaningful milestone for a Division II UDFA but does not change the role: career special-teams ace whose WR snaps are emergency rotation. The Wk 18 18.2 PPR spike is the entire fantasy-relevant moment of his season; five of his other logged weeks scored zero. The Pro Bowl punt-return ability keeps him employed, not the receiving production.

Olszewski came out of Bemidji State (Division II) as an undrafted free agent in 2019 with New England. He made the 2020 All-Pro team as a punt returner, the rare D-II UDFA to earn that honor. He has bounced through New England, Pittsburgh, the Giants practice squad, and now the Giants active roster across seven seasons, primarily as a return specialist with occasional WR4 snaps. The 2025 #86 (tier 8) finish is his first STTM ranking, reflecting some receiving usage when the Giants WR room needed bodies around Malik Nabers's ACL injury.

Strengths

  • 2020 All-Pro punt returner (the rare D-II UDFA to earn the honor) plus seven NFL seasons of survival as a special-teams ace. That role has real value teams will keep paying for.
  • Wk 18 2025's 18.2 PPR shows what the spike-week ceiling looks like when the Giants offense uses him. Bemidji State to All-Pro is a meaningful resilience story.

Concerns

  • Five zero-PPR weeks in his eight-game logged 2025 sample confirms the WR usage is purely emergency rotation.
  • At 30 the return-game speed degrades and the receiving ceiling has never developed across seven NFL seasons. The trajectory is the last chapter.

What to watch: Whether the Giants retain him as the primary punt returner for 2026 or move on for a younger ST specialist.
