STM Take

Five career tier 8 STTM finishes across eight NFL seasons makes Martin the textbook journeyman pass-rush depth piece. The Temple 6th-round origin plus the multi-team experience across six teams gives him basic plug-in pass-rush rotation value. The 2026 question is whether Martin holds an active-roster spot at age 30 or whether the role compresses to practice-squad rotation.

Martin came out of Temple as the Seattle Seahawks' 6th-round pick (186th overall) in 2018 and has bounced through the Seahawks, Texans, Jets, Broncos, Bears, and now Commanders across eight NFL seasons. His STTM career runs tier 8 (#106) in 2020, tier 8 (#93) in 2021 and 2022, tier 8 (#58) in 2024, and tier 8 (#71) in 2025.

Strengths

Eight years of NFL survival across six teams as a 2018 6th-round pick gives him the rare journeyman edge defender résumé.
Temple AAC pedigree plus positional flexibility plus the multi-team experience gives him basic plug-in pass-rush rotation veteran value.

Concerns

Five career tier 8 STTM finishes confirms the structural ceiling has never climbed above rotational depth.
Age 30 plus eight years of journeyman travel pattern puts the 2026 active-roster question on every projection.

What to watch: Whether Martin holds an active-roster spot for the full 2026 season or whether the role compresses to practice-squad rotation.
