Monroe Freeling emerged as one of the most tantalizing offensive tackle prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft after a breakout junior season at Georgia. The 6'7", 315-pound left tackle entered the program as a 4-star recruit and the top prospect out of South Carolina in the 2023 class. After appearing in eight games as a true freshman and starting four of 13 games as a sophomore, Freeling seized the starting left tackle role in 2025 and never looked back. He appeared in all 14 games, starting 13, with only an ankle injury preventing him from starting against Auburn. Late-season injuries to Georgia's established starters in 2024 had opened the door for Freeling to start the final five games including the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame-valuable experience that paid dividends in his first full season as a starter. Freeling possesses an exceptional physical profile with elite length (84-inch wingspan) and quick feet that allow him to mirror speed rushers with ease. His pass protection grade of 85.1 from PFF reflected his ability to surrender just nine pressures and three sacks all season. His processing ability stands out, drawing comparisons to Olu Fashanu coming out of Penn State, with no concerns about his ability to handle stunts at the NFL level. However, Freeling's run blocking remains a work in progress-his zone run blocking graded at 64.7 while gap schemes earned only 53.5. His upright playing style and tendency to lunge leave him vulnerable to whiffing on assignments. Despite the inconsistencies, Freeling's combination of elite athleticism, quick feet, and pass protection acumen at a premium position makes him a likely first-round selection in a weak tackle class.
