STM Take
Four straight top-23 STTM finishes (#20, #23, #20, #7) with the 2025 jump to tier 1 confirms the Packers were right to lock him in at RT. The trajectory looks like the Brian O'Neill arc (steady tier 3 with a tier 1 spike year), and at 27 with the contract through 2028, he is one of the better value-pick RT investments of the last five years.
Tom came out of Wake Forest as Green Bay's 4th-round pick (140th overall) in 2022 after a college career split between left tackle and center. The Packers initially used him as a positional Swiss Army knife (he played all five OL positions in his rookie season), then locked him in at right tackle from 2023 onward. Three consecutive tier 3 finishes (#20, #23, #20) preceded the 2025 breakout to tier 1 #7, which is the kind of Year 4 jump rare for a 4th-round pick.
Strengths
- Four straight top-23 STTM finishes plus the 2025 jump to tier 1 (#7) confirms the consistent year-over-year improvement. 4th-round draft pedigree to tier 1 production is a real value find.
- Versatility (all five OL positions as a rookie) plus three years of locked-in RT starts gives him technical baseline above the typical 4th-round profile.
Concerns
- Single tier 1 season is not yet a trend; the prior three years averaged tier 3 (#21).
- Packers' offensive line continuity has been a strength, but any 2026 turnover at LG or LT shifts the protection burden and potentially exposes Tom in ways the 2025 sample did not test.
What to watch: Whether Tom's 2026 sack rate stays under 2%, the threshold that confirms the 2025 tier 1 finish was structural improvement rather than noise.
