The 2025 #2 (tier 1) rebound from 2024's injury-shortened #70 confirms the Lisfranc surgery worked. The trajectory pre-injury was unambiguous (#12 in 2021, #16 in 2022, #18 in 2023), and the 2025 return to #2 tier 1 reestablishes him as a top-3 LT. At 27 with the contract through 2028, he is the cornerstone the Giants built the LT position around.

Thomas came out of Georgia as the New York Giants' 1st-round pick (4th overall) in 2020. After a rough rookie season (he gave up a league-high 10 sacks in 2020), he rebuilt his technique under Bobby Johnson's tutelage and turned into one of the league's best young LTs by his third year. He made the 2022 Pro Bowl and signed a 5-year, $117.5M extension in July 2023 that briefly made him the highest-paid LT in NFL history.
