STM Take
From tier 5 #37 as a rookie to tier 8 #61 in 2025 with a 2023 tier 6 (#44) bounce in between is the typical career arc of a deep-threat 5th-rounder. The 2025 game log is genuinely steady (Wks 9-13 produced 11.2, 12.9, 3.3, 14.1, 5.6 PPR), but the floor weeks keep the average too low for fantasy relevance. At 29 with the Giants' QB room still unsettled, the trajectory is sideways at best.
Slayton came out of Auburn as the New York Giants' 5th-round pick (171st overall) in 2019. He has spent his entire seven-year NFL career with the Giants, posting four 700+ receiving yard seasons including a 740-yard rookie campaign (tier 5 #37) that established him as a deep-threat starter. He has survived multiple regime changes (Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor, Drew Lock, multiple coaches) and remains the longest-tenured Giants WR. His 2025 #61 (tier 8) finish continues a clear back-half-of-career decline.
Strengths
- Four 700+ receiving yard seasons across seven years is meaningful baseline production for a 5th-round pick. Career receiving touchdowns total 28, a respectable per-target conversion rate.
- Wks 10 and 13 2025 produced 12.9 and 14.1 PPR; the deep-shot conversion still happens monthly. Career-long survival in NYG means the institutional knowledge is real.
Concerns
- Three straight tier 8 finishes (#113 in 2021, #80 in 2024, #61 in 2025) confirm the back-half decline. The 2023 tier 6 (#44) bounce was the exception, not the rule.
- At 29 with Malik Nabers as the locked-in alpha plus the 2025 Wandale Robinson contract, Slayton's target share has nowhere to grow.
What to watch: Whether the Giants retain him through 2026 final cuts at his contract level or move on for a cheaper deep-threat option.
