STM Take

Two 1st-team All-Pro selections (2016, 2020) plus the Michigan State 8th overall draft pedigree puts Conklin in the elite RT career résumé class. The multi-year ACL/knee injury history plus the limited recent availability put continued durability question on every projection. The 2026 question is whether Conklin returns to tier 3-4 territory or whether the structural injury wear closes the elite chapter.

Conklin came out of Michigan State as the Tennessee Titans' 1st-round pick (8th overall) in 2016. He earned 2016 1st-team All-Pro recognition as a rookie plus 2020 1st-team All-Pro with the Cleveland Browns. He signed a four-year, $60M extension with the Browns in 2023. He has dealt with multiple ACL and knee injuries that have limited his recent availability.

Strengths

  • Two 1st-team All-Pro selections (2016, 2020) plus the Michigan State 8th overall draft pedigree establishes elite RT career résumé.
  • Michigan State Big Ten 8th overall draft pedigree plus 10 years of NFL development gives him real veteran market value.

Concerns

  • Multi-year ACL/knee injury history plus the limited recent availability puts continued durability question on every 2026 projection.
  • $15M+ 2026 cap hit on the $60M Browns extension creates major contract-value risk if Conklin cannot return to tier 3-4 territory.

What to watch: Whether Conklin returns to tier 4 (top 30) in 2026 plus plays 12+ games, the threshold for confirming the elite ceiling can be recaptured.
