Jaydn Ott 2026 NFL Draft Profile | RB from Oklahoma
Scouting Report
Jaydn Ott is an explosive finesse-oriented running back who transferred to Oklahoma after three seasons at Cal where he rushed for 1305 yards and 12 touchdowns in his 2023 breakout year. His 2024 season was derailed by a Week 1 right ankle injury that lingered all year limiting him to just 385 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in a reduced role. Ott possesses excellent open-field acceleration and once he reaches daylight he quickly picks up yards with a long efficient stride. His vision at the line of scrimmage is strong as he reads blocks well and identifies opportunities to bounce runs outside. He is a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield capable of handling short intermediate and deep throws effectively. Dynasty Nerds described him as the perfect candidate to be a Mike McDaniel-type explosive back suggesting he fits best in an outside zone scheme that gets him to the perimeter. However Ott is not a power runner and relies almost entirely on finesse and elusiveness which is a concern against NFL-sized defenders between the tackles. His injury history raises durability red flags and his limited production at Oklahoma has caused him to slide on draft boards. He has a high-hipped running style that can slow his lateral cuts despite not being a tall back. Ott projects as a Day 3 pick in the round 6 range with his ceiling dependent entirely on scheme fit and health.
