From tier 1 (#2) plus 1st-team All-Pro in 2019 to tier 6-8 finishes through 2023 and now tier 4 (#27) in 2025 captures one of the most violent injury-driven decline arcs at the position. The November 2020 ankle injury is the line of demarcation. At 32 with the ankle now five years in the rearview, the 2025 tier 4 finish is the realistic baseline for the remaining career.
Stanley came out of Notre Dame as Baltimore's 1st-round pick (6th overall) in 2016. His 2019 season was generational: tier 1 (#2) STTM finish plus 1st-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections, with statistical metrics that put him in the conversation for the best LT season of the decade. A severe ankle injury in November 2020 (he had to be carted off the field) plus multiple surgeries cost him most of 2020-2021 and disrupted 2022-2023. The 2024-2025 finishes (#48, #27) show a partial recovery to mid-tier production.
Strengths

Concerns

- At 32 with the documented ankle history, the structural decline is approaching. The 2025 tier 4 (#27) is likely the ceiling rather than a step toward tier 2.
