STM Take

The jump from #49 (tier 7) in 2024 to #43 (tier 6) in 2025 understates how productive the back half of 2025 was. The Wk 18-19 stretch (16.7 and 28.4 PPR) plus Wk 13's 17.4 shows a player carving out a real WR2 role at age 25. UDFA who climbs into a meaningful target share is a rare story; the 2026 question is whether the role survives Carolina's expected WR additions.

Coker came out of Holy Cross as an undrafted free agent in 2024 after a four-year career that produced him as one of the Patriot League's most decorated WRs (2x conference Offensive Player of the Year). Carolina signed him during 2024 training camp and he survived final cuts, then posted 32 catches for 478 yards as an injury fill-in (tier 7 #49). The 2025 season was the breakout: with Adam Thielen aging out and Diontae Johnson cycling through teams, Coker stepped into a meaningful target share opposite Tetairoa McMillan.

Strengths

  • UDFA from Holy Cross (Patriot League) who held an NFL roster spot for two seasons and produced 478 receiving yards as a rookie is a rare path. Wk 19 2025's 28.4 PPR is starter-grade single-game output.
  • Year-over-year STTM improvement (#49 to #43) is small but in the right direction. Wks 18-19 closing two-game stretch averaged 22.6 PPR.

Concerns

  • Tier 6 finish is still well below the WR2 line. Three sub-7 PPR games in the 2025 sample (3.6, 6.2, 7.7) show the floor stays low when McMillan absorbs the target share.
  • UDFA pedigree means the offseason buildup is the structural ceiling: Carolina will continue drafting and signing competing WRs every year.

What to watch: Whether Carolina adds a 2026 WR2 in the draft, which would compress Coker's path back to tier 7 third-WR usage.
