James is a versatile running back with a well-rounded skill set and good vision. He displays patience behind the line of scrimmage, setting up blocks and finding cutback lanes effectively. James accelerates quickly through holes and has enough speed to break long runs when he finds daylight. In the passing game, he shows reliable hands and improving route-running ability out of the backfield. James demonstrates good pass protection skills, identifying blitzers and showing willingness to deliver solid blocks. He runs with good balance and forward lean, consistently falling forward for extra yardage.
