Allen is a versatile running back with excellent receiving ability and good vision. He displays impressive route-running skills for a running back, creating separation against linebackers and catching the ball cleanly away from his body. As a runner, Allen shows good patience, setting up blocks and finding cutback lanes effectively. He accelerates quickly through holes and has enough speed to break chunk gains when he finds daylight. Allen demonstrates good elusiveness in space, making the first defender miss and creating additional yardage after contact. He has shown improvement in pass protection, identifying and engaging blitzers.
